Along with the success of landing a new job, newly employed women often encounter an unfamiliar set of employment obstacles. From understanding corporate culture to managing personal finances, career novices often feel adrift in navigating the unwritten rules of the workplace with little or no support. The Professional Women’s Group (PWG) bolsters the careers of successfully employed Dress for Success women by providing them with a network of support, practical information, and inspiration to remain employed so they can truly thrive.

About our PWG
The Professional Women’s Group (PWG) is a networking, job retention, and professional development program that empowers employed Dress for Success Southern Nevada clients to aspire to self-defined success through motivation, mentoring, resources, training, and partnership with professional women in the community.
The PWG helps newly employed clients keep their jobs, develop new skills, increase their income potential, and advance in their careers. Membership is lifelong, free, and open to all Dress for Success clients who are working or in school.
PWG membership offers our working clients:
- Membership in a professional network of diverse women supporting each other in the shared goal of achieving personal success
- Information from engaging speakers about personal and professional development
- Mentorship to help members reach their goals
- The opportunity to participate in a Community Action Project and demonstrate leadership while giving back to the community.
Building Skills and Confidence
At each PWG meeting, a professional speaker leads a discussion and/or workshop on a specific topic, giving members resources to succeed in work and life. Recent topics include:
- Goal setting, self-esteem, and professional attitudes
- Understanding your paycheck and basic insurance benefits
- Communication, networking, and negotiation skills
- Personal finances, savings and credit repair
- Taking initiative and moving ahead in the workplace
- Becoming an effective working parent
- Resolving workplace conflict
- Tax tips, record keeping, and organization
- Living a healthy lifestyle
- Continuing education
At every meeting, each PWG member receives a voucher for products from the Dress for Success Southern Nevada boutique, so they can continue to build their professional wardrobe and shine with success!
